Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a landmark federal civil rights law enacted in 1990 that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including employment. Title I of the ADA requires employers with 15 or more employees to provide equal employment opportunities and reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities, unless doing so would cause undue hardship. A PEO provides guidance on ADA compliance, helps manage the interactive accommodation process, and reduces the risk of costly discrimination claims.
